Scientific Name: Boraras naevus
The Strawberry Rasbora is a tiny freshwater schooling fish known for its attractive reddish-orange coloration and distinctive dark markings. Reaching less than an inch as an adult, this peaceful nano species is an excellent choice for mature planted aquariums where a larger group can create an impressive display of color and natural schooling behavior.
Strawberry Rasboras are peaceful, social fish that should be maintained in groups, with larger schools helping them feel more secure and display more natural behavior. Their extremely small size makes them best suited for calm aquariums with similarly sized peaceful species. They thrive in stable, mature aquariums with plenty of plant cover and gentle water movement.

Recommended Setup: A mature, heavily planted aquarium with gentle filtration, plenty of cover, and areas of open swimming space. Driftwood, floating plants, leaf litter, and botanicals can provide shaded areas and help create a natural environment. Soft, slightly acidic water is preferred, with stable water conditions being especially important. Feed appropriately sized foods such as finely crushed flakes, micro pellets, baby brine shrimp, cyclops, daphnia, and other small frozen or live foods.
