The Grade A Persimmon Parrot is a selectively bred hybrid cichlid prized for its vibrant orange to persimmon coloration, rounded body shape, and distinctive parrot-like face. Grade A specimens are selected for their strong coloration and overall appearance, making them an eye-catching centerpiece fish for larger freshwater aquariums.

Persimmon Parrots are active, intelligent cichlids that can become highly interactive with their keepers. They are generally less aggressive than many similarly sized Central American cichlids but can still become territorial, particularly as they mature. Their large adult size and substantial bioload make adequate swimming space, strong filtration, and carefully selected tank mates important for long-term care.

Recommended Setup: A mature, well-filtered aquarium with plenty of open swimming space and caves, driftwood, rocks, or other smooth structures that provide territories and hiding areas. Strong filtration is recommended due to their adult size and waste production. Feed a varied diet centered around quality cichlid pellets supplemented with frozen foods and occasional vegetable-based foods. Choose peaceful to moderately assertive tank mates of an appropriate size and avoid very small fish that may be intimidated or eaten.
