Product Information
Scientific Name: Trichopodus leerii
The Pearl Gourami is an elegant freshwater fish known for its shimmering pearl-like pattern, dark horizontal stripe, and long flowing fins. Its unique coloration, graceful swimming behavior, and relatively peaceful temperament make it an excellent centerpiece fish for larger planted and community aquariums.
Pearl Gouramis typically spend their time exploring the middle and upper levels of the aquarium. As labyrinth fish, they can breathe atmospheric air from the surface in addition to using their gills. They thrive in calm, well-planted aquariums with gentle water movement, plenty of cover, and open swimming areas. Although generally peaceful, males may become territorial with one another, particularly during breeding.
