Product Information
Scientific Name: Otocinclus macrospilus
Otocinclus are small, peaceful freshwater catfish best known for grazing on soft algae and biofilm throughout the aquarium. Their small adult size and gentle temperament make them an excellent algae-eating option for planted tanks and peaceful community aquariums.
Otocinclus are social fish and are best kept in groups. They thrive in established aquariums with plenty of surfaces to graze, including live plants, driftwood, rocks, and aquarium glass. Natural algae and biofilm should be supplemented with quality algae wafers and vegetable-based foods when necessary.
