Flash Plecos are naturally associated with submerged wood and spend much of their time exploring driftwood, caves, rocks, and shaded areas of the aquarium. Driftwood is an important part of their environment and provides surfaces for their natural rasping and grazing behavior.

Unlike plecos purchased primarily for algae control, the L204 should be maintained on a varied diet that includes quality sinking foods, vegetable-based foods, and access to driftwood and natural biofilm.
