Green Neon Rasbora (Kubotai Rasbora)

The Green Neon Rasbora, also known as the Kubotai Rasbora, is a small freshwater schooling fish known for its brilliant neon-green coloration and active swimming behavior. Its bright metallic green body can create an impressive glowing effect when a group moves together through a planted aquarium, making this species especially popular for nano and aquascaped setups.

Green Neon Rasboras are peaceful, social fish that should be maintained in groups of at least 8, with larger schools displaying even more natural and confident behavior. Despite their tiny size, they are active swimmers and appreciate adequate horizontal swimming space along with plenty of plant cover. Their small adult size makes them best suited for peaceful community aquariums with similarly sized tank mates.

Recommended Setup: A mature, well-filtered aquarium with plenty of live plants, open swimming space, and gentle to moderate water movement. Green Neon Rasboras look especially striking against darker backgrounds and dense green or red plants. Keep them in a school of at least 8 whenever possible and pair them with other peaceful nano and community fish. Feed appropriately sized foods such as quality micro pellets, finely crushed flakes, baby brine shrimp, cyclops, and other small frozen or live foods.

Juvenile or recently transported fish may initially display lighter coloration and can develop stronger green coloration once settled into appropriate aquarium conditions.
