Product Information

Scientific Name: Osteogaster sp. CW010 (commonly traded as Corydoras sp. CW010)
Common Names: Gold Laser Cory, Gold Laser Corydoras, CW010

The Gold Laser Cory is a highly sought-after freshwater catfish prized for the brilliant metallic gold stripe running along its body. Contrasted against darker olive-green coloration, this luminous stripe gives the fish its distinctive “laser” appearance and makes it one of the most visually striking Cory-type catfish available in the aquarium hobby.

Gold Laser Corys are peaceful, social bottom dwellers that are best maintained in groups. They spend much of their time exploring the substrate together, making them an excellent premium addition to planted and peaceful community aquariums.

Care Level: Easy to Moderate
Temperament: Peaceful
Adult Size: Approximately 2.5–2.75 inches
Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallons recommended
Temperature: Approximately 72–79°F
pH: Approximately 6.5–7.5
Diet: Omnivore
Recommended Group Size: 6 or more

Recommended Setup: Provide a mature, well-filtered aquarium with plenty of usable bottom area. A fine sand or other smooth substrate is strongly recommended for natural foraging behavior. Plants, driftwood, shaded areas, and open substrate create an excellent environment.

Gold Laser Corys are highly social and should be maintained with others of their own kind. We recommend a group of at least 6, which encourages more confident and natural social behavior.

Feed a varied diet centered around quality sinking pellets or wafers supplemented with appropriately sized frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia, and similar foods.

Gold Laser Corys should not be treated solely as aquarium cleanup fish. They require intentional feeding and a complete diet despite spending much of their time foraging along the bottom.

Tankmates: Excellent for peaceful community aquariums alongside compatible tetras, rasboras, danios, peaceful dwarf cichlids, other compatible Cory-type catfish, and similarly sized non-aggressive species.

Please Note: Natural coloration, stripe intensity, size, and sex may vary between individual fish. The fish you receive may differ slightly from the individual pictured.

Available Quantities: Individual fish and discounted group options are available. For their long-term social well-being, we recommend keeping Gold Laser Corys in a group of at least 6.
