The Gold Chinese Algae Eater is a striking golden color variety of the classic Chinese Algae Eater. Its bright yellow-to-golden coloration, active personality, and algae-grazing behavior make it an eye-catching addition to larger freshwater aquariums.

Juvenile Gold Chinese Algae Eaters spend much of their time grazing on algae and biofilm across aquarium glass, rocks, driftwood, and other surfaces. As they mature, their diet should be supplemented with quality sinking foods, algae wafers, vegetable-based foods, and other appropriate foods to maintain good condition.

Important: Gold Chinese Algae Eaters may become increasingly territorial as they mature, particularly toward other bottom-dwelling or slower-moving fish. They should not be confused with the generally more community-oriented Siamese Algae Eater.
