The Glass Catfish is one of the most unique freshwater fish in the hobby, famous for its nearly transparent body that reveals the spine and internal structures beneath the skin. Unlike most catfish, Glass Catfish spend much of their time schooling in the middle of the aquarium rather than along the bottom.

Keep Glass Catfish in a mature, stable, well-filtered aquarium with plants, shaded areas, open swimming space, and peaceful tankmates. They are sensitive to poor or rapidly changing water conditions and should be maintained in a group of at least 6 for natural, confident behavior. Multiple current care references likewise recommend 6+ and roughly 30 gallons for a group.
Feed a varied diet of quality prepared foods supplemented with frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms.
Please Note: Glass Catfish are more sensitive than many common community fish and are best suited for established aquariums with stable water quality.
