The Bala Shark is a large, active freshwater schooling fish known for its metallic silver body and striking black-edged fins. Despite its name and shark-like appearance, it is actually a member of the carp and minnow family.

Bala Sharks require significant swimming space and should only be purchased by aquarists prepared for their large adult size. Keep them in groups and provide strong filtration, good oxygenation, plenty of open swimming room, and a secure lid.

Feed a varied diet of quality flakes or pellets supplemented with plant matter and frozen or live foods.
