Assorted Sparkle Medaka Ricefish are selectively bred Japanese Ricefish prized for their reflective scales, shimmering appearance, and variety of colors and patterns. Each assortment can contain fish with different coloration, markings, and levels of metallic sparkle, making every group unique.

Medaka are peaceful, hardy, and social fish that are well suited for planted aquariums, patio tubs, and appropriately maintained outdoor ponds. They spend much of their time around the upper areas of the water and display their best natural behavior when maintained in groups. Unlike many tropical aquarium fish, Medaka tolerate cooler temperatures and do not require tropical-level heat.

Recommended Setup: A mature, well-filtered aquarium, patio tub, or appropriately maintained outdoor pond with gentle water movement and plenty of surface swimming space. Live plants and floating vegetation provide cover and can encourage natural behavior and spawning. Feed a varied diet of quality small pellets or flakes supplemented with appropriately sized frozen and live foods such as baby brine shrimp, daphnia, and other small invertebrates.
