Assorted Neocaridina Shrimp are an excellent way to add multiple colors of freshwater dwarf shrimp to a planted aquarium in a single purchase. Aqua Huna's assortment can contain Blue Velvet, Red Cherry, Yellow Rice, Green Jade, Red Rili, and Orange Shrimp, with at least five different varieties included in each 10-pack.

These shrimp combine the bright colors of several selectively bred Neocaridina davidi varieties with the hardy, adaptable nature that makes Neocaridina one of the most beginner-friendly freshwater shrimp. They spend much of their time grazing on biofilm, algae, microorganisms, and organic material throughout the aquarium.

Recommended Setup: A mature, fully cycled aquarium containing live plants, mosses, driftwood, leaf litter, and established biofilm is ideal. Sponge filtration is especially useful because it provides gentle filtration and protects newly hatched shrimplets.

Neocaridina generally do not require the specialized active substrate and soft, acidic RO-water setup used for many Caridina shrimp. Stable, appropriately mineralized tap water can work very well when it falls within suitable parameters. Stability is more important than constantly adjusting the aquarium to hit an exact number.

Please Note: This product is sold as an assorted mix. Aqua Huna's assortment includes six possible varieties: Blue Velvet, Red Cherry, Yellow Rice, Green Jade, Red Rili, and Orange. Each 10-pack contains at least five different varieties, but exact colors, quantities of each color, size, and sex will vary. Males and females are selected randomly.

Important: Because the different colors are all varieties of Neocaridina davidi, they can interbreed with one another. Over multiple generations, mixed-color colonies can produce unpredictable colors and may eventually produce more wild-type/brown coloration. Customers interested primarily in maintaining pure color lines should keep individual varieties separately.
