Albino Cory – Corydoras Albino

The Albino Cory is the selectively bred albino form of the popular Bronze Cory, Corydoras aeneus. Its pale cream-to-pink body and distinctive red eyes give this peaceful bottom-dwelling catfish a completely different appearance from the standard Bronze Cory while retaining the same hardy, social nature.

Albino Corys are an excellent choice for peaceful freshwater community aquariums. They spend much of their time actively exploring and foraging along the substrate and become especially engaging when maintained in a proper group.

Recommended Setup: Provide a mature, well-filtered aquarium with plenty of bottom area. Fine sand or smooth, rounded substrate is preferred, along with plants, driftwood, rocks, shaded areas, and open areas for foraging.

Albino Corys are highly social. A group of at least 6 of their own kind is recommended to encourage confident, natural schooling and foraging behavior. Aquarium Co-Op likewise recommends groups of six or more Corydoras and approximately 20 gallons or larger for most non-dwarf varieties.

Feed a varied diet consisting of quality sinking pellets or wafers supplemented with frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and other appropriately sized foods.

Despite their reputation as bottom feeders, Albino Corys should not be purchased simply as aquarium cleaners. They require intentional feeding and a nutritionally complete diet of their own.

Tankmates: Excellent for peaceful community aquariums with compatible tetras, rasboras, danios, peaceful livebearers, dwarf cichlids, and other similarly sized non-aggressive species.
