The Serpae Tetra is a vibrant, high-energy fish known for its deep red coloration and bold presence in any aquarium. When kept in groups, they create a striking schooling effect that brings constant movement and life to your tank.
This species thrives in groups of 6 or more, which helps reduce aggression and encourages natural behavior. Serpae Tetras are semi-aggressive and may nip fins, so they are best kept with active, similarly sized fish such as barbs, danios, rasboras, and other tetras. Avoid slow-moving or long-finned fish.
They are hardy and adaptable, making them a strong choice for a wide range of freshwater aquariums. A planted tank with open swimming space will help bring out their best color and activity.
